About a year ago I decided to make a change.

I wasn’t giving my health a high enough priority, I wasn’t satisfied with how I felt and it wasn’t helping me put in those long days to move Surety forward like I wanted to.

So I decided to get back in shape.

First I started with what I was putting in my body. I became very aware of calorie intake, timing and portion size of meals, among other factors.

After a few months, I noticed a big change in my energy and I started to lose weight.

This is when I started adding a more rigorous exercise routine back to my daily life. As part of this, I began running farther and farther. As you can see in the picture above, I came in first in my age division for a local 5k!

I was picking up momentum and didn’t want to stop there. So I continued to train and as of a few weeks ago, I hit 10 miles in a normal morning run.

Getting my health back under control has given me a ton of benefits. I feel like a completely different person.

This change of lifestyle ended up being what I needed to take myself to the next level.
